Uh oh ! I’m behind on my blogging

So what’s been going on in the World of Jorn ? Last week there was that evil dentist appointment I was talking about, but it turned out to be not so bad. As usual my teeth were in perfect shape (carnivore, what can I say ). The weekend consisted mainly of playing World of Warcraft and doing some chores around the house.

On Saturday evening we had guests Kristof, Els, Chan, Dimitry, Johan and Gwendoline came over for a visit. They brought some presents for us: champagne glasses and a nice light in some sort of salty stone (don’t really know what it’s called in English). Both will be put to good use

Next weekend I’m having a LAN party with the guys, should be fun

Let’s begin where I left off. I concluded last week with a concert of music by John Williams. For those of you who don’t know who that is, shame on you ! He’s the composer of some of the best movie soundtracks in existence. Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Saving private Ryan, ET are just a few examples. I went there with Arwen, my fellow soundtrack enthusiast. During the music they projected scenes of the movie in question on a big screen. We had some of the cheaper seats but we still had a good view, it was pretty awesome

Compared to the eventful last week, this one was a bit less exciting. During the week there was work and the weekend was just plain relaxing We did pass by Kristof to give him a late birthday present (booze). Yesterday I also visited my grandmother, the whole family was there for her birthday. She was a bit better than the last time I visited her. After that we just played a bit of World of Warcraft and watched some TV.

This week I’ve got a dentist appointment so the prospects aren’t that good :p Till next time !

Well I just got back from Facts and I have to say, it was pretty good compared to last time. We didn’t stay super long but we did manage to look at all the stands.

First thing I did when I arrived was go to the Stargate Questions & Answers. Present of the cast were: Morena Baccarin (Adria), Paul McGillion (Carson Beckett) and Cliff Simon (Ba’al). Morena also played Inara on Firefly/Serenity.
They answered a couple of question of the fans (duh) and especially Cliff seemed to be a big joker. He also has this amazing voice, playing a bad guy is perfect for it.

After the Q&A Arwen, Milan and I strolled through the many stands. It seems to get bigger every year. Milan got challenged to a lightsaber duel (see movie below) and afterwards insisted he get his own. Arwen gave in and Milan walked away with a nice red colored lightsaber that extracts on its own (me jealous !). I also saw a cool looking Darth Vader suit for sale but 750 Euro was a bit too much. I need to work on my geekiness level

In the end we came to the place where the actors were handing out autographs. I asked both Morena and Cliff to take a picture with me. I should have asked all 3 to be in a picture together but Paul was busy and to be honest I was feeling a little shy Still cool pictures to have

So as the title says, Arwen claims he doesn’t like chocolate spread.

But then we opened his closet and found this:

All there is left to say is; classic Arwen moment, forgetting you still have chocolate spread every time you go to the store and therefore buying a new pot. Even when you don’t like it.

Warhammer seems to have struck hard here in Belgium. Last Sunday I was at Arwen’s along with Jan. For fun we tried to convince Jan to join us in Warhammer Online, never thinking we’d succeed. However an hour later he had the game installed and bought a key online. Kirsten came over as well at around that time, resulting in the 4 of us starting a new character on a nicely (but not overly) populated server. It was great fun, I’m sure Bouw was sorry he missed it :p He made a character there later though and so did Katrien. Valery will do the same tonight bringing the total of friends playing on that server to 7, nice ! Death to all who oppose us !

On Saturday Katrien and I did some cleaning and rewarded ourselves by going out to dinner to Don Peppe, an Italian restaurant nearby. It was a bit of a disappointment though, I seem to remember it being better than it was. Oh well, we’ll pick another one next time

It promises to be a busy week and weekend though. Planning to visit Tom2 (and maybe Tom1 if I can make it) now that I work in the neighborhood. It’ll give me an opportunity to see Tom1′s new house (so Tom if you’re reading this, I might pop over on Wednesday evening, I’ll let you know beforehand of course ). Tonight I’m going to the Outpost along with Tom4 (too many Toms !) to talk to them about the next Queaso LAN. Also visiting Kristel at noon on Friday for lunch, she also lives close to where I work.

The weekend promises to be exciting as well. On Saturday Arwen and I are going to Facts, a SciFi / Fantasy convention here in Ghent. There’ll be people from Stargate, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica and others. It should be great fun, I’ll try to take pictures. On Sunday I have yet another date with Arwen, we’re going to a concert of John Williams. Katrien has to work this weekend so this’ll keep me more than occupied

Another week has gone by and the weekend awaits us ! Although it’ll partially be filled with cleaning so that makes it less exciting. Tomorrow I’m going out to dinner with Katrien though and on Sunday I’ll be visiting the guys so I’ll have some fun as well

Last weekend I went over to Valery’s. We had another fun weekend of playing the Wii and going to the movies. Our usual routine so to speak, yet it never gets boring Chris was there as well this weekend. I showed the family my car and they liked it (what not to like right ? ). The movie we went to see was Wanted. It was pretty good, if you put yourself past all the non-believable parts. I also showed Valery Warhammer Online and she decided she’ll (most likely) join us, so yay !

We started the week with another poker evening, it was long overdue. I was the designated driver for Kristof and Tom9, although truth be told, they didn’t drink much (this time ). The host of the evening was Paul, next time it’s my turn. It’ll be a small house warming for Castle Jorn I guess

On Tuesday there was another Queaso GetTogether. The topic of the evening was Communication @ Work. The presentation started rather odd though, the speaker started stripping. It was apparently part of his act though Truth be told, it wasn’t the most interesting topic that we’ve had on the GetTogethers. It was nice to meet the new colleague though, Queaso is growing nicely, 15 people and counting !

Well I’m off to play Warhammer Online … for a change I’m playing a melee character instead of a caster, it’s an interesting change Now, time to go kill those mages …
