Gaming Galore
Another post about gaming, I’m on a roll ! I can’t remember at the moment if I mentioned this before, but I quit World of Warcraft about a month ago after almost 5 years of playing it non stop. I needed a break from it, wasn’t exciting me anymore. As a side effect though I started playing a lot of different other games to keep me occupied. Passing the revenue: Dragon Age Origins, Sacred 2 and last but not least Call of Duty – Modern Warfare 2. The latter kept us busy on the LAN party last Sunday held at Castle Jorn. It was both a great game and frustrating. I know there’s been a lot of buzz on the internet about them taking dedicated servers out of the game. And truthfully I hadn’t thought it would affect me much, but oh boy does there new system suck. So many disconnects, games that are unable to be joined, etc. They really have a lot of work to do. On the other hand, when it did work it was pretty awesome. 6 of us VS 6 other people online.
Another game I’ve been trying out is Sacred 2. Looks a lot like Diablo so should keep Kirsten and myself (Diablo fans) busy until Diablo 3 hits the stores. We’ll do the occasional session I think. Can’t believe I missed this game though, it’s been out for quite a while but I hadn’t even heard about it.
Anyways, other than gaming Katrien and I went to look at fireplaces, more specifically the ones that work on bio ethanol since those don’t need a chimney. I personally wasn’t that impressed with it, gives almost no heat at all. I was expecting at least something. But we’re looking into it.
I guess that’s it for now
Game on !
Greetings, gaming will be the topic of the day !
Last week was exciting, we have a new laptop in the family. His name is Avenger, following the Castle Jorn computer naming conventions: Star Destroyers for pcs & laptops, planets or moons for servers. An appropriate name for a gaming laptop wouldn’t you say ? I’ll throw some specs at you: Q9100 (Quad Core) processor, 4GB DDR3 RAM, 15.4 inch with 1920×1200 resolution, Nvidia 260M GTX 1GB DDR3 RAM, 500 GB 7200 RPM Hard Disk, HDMI output, etc. Pretty impressive for such a tiny laptop ! I can’t wait for Call of Duty 6 to come out next week so I can take this baby for a spin on the next LAN party.
Talking about LAN parties, we’re probably going to have one at Thomas Cook with the IT department. Just for fun
Should be cool. And the best thing is: it wasn’t even my suggestion. The fun level is high enough there for colleagues to come with these suggestions on their own.
On Sunday I went to Arwen’s. The guys wanted to do a board game. We played Formula 1 and it was an awesome match. Very exciting until the last dice throw. Also showed Kirsten Torchlight, a new Diablo-clone hack & slash which is pretty fun. Petty it doesn’t have multiplayer though.
Well that’s it for now, but at least you’re up to date
Game on !
